Ingredients for Red Chile Oil Recipe

  • 2 Cups Finely Crushed Chimayo Red Chile or similar New Mexico red chile (remove stems prior to crushing/blending dry)
  • 2 Cups Vegetable oil

Red Chile Oil Preparation

Heat the oil in a pan to 350˚ F. Remove from heat, add red chile, and let stand until cool. Cover pan and let stand for 12 to 24 hours … the longer it sits the hotter it gets. Strain through a fine sifter then use as ordinary vegetable oil.
