LAS CRUCES, NM – Are your lip sync skills good enough to win the 2016 Las Cruces Country Music Festival “Lip Sync Showdown”?
The six week lip sync contest hosted by Visit Las Cruces and the Las Cruces Country Music Festival, is currently underway and will run until April 17.  Each week, two winners will receive tickets to this year’s festival along with a gift basket full of festival merchandise.  At the end of the contest, weekly winner videos will go head-to-head with the grand prize winner receiving two festival VIP passes, three nights accommodation at Hilton Garden Inn, dinner for two, and a travel allowance of up to $1,000 to attend the festival.
The grand prize winner will be voted on by fans and announced after April 18, 2016.
To enter, contestants 18 years and older need to use their cell phone or any other video recording device to record a 15 second video of themselves lip syncing to any song from this year’s festival headliners: The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Lee Ann Womack, David Nail, Cam, Rick Trevino and Aaron Watson.  Contestants then need to upload their video to Facebook, YouTube or Instagram and complete the entry form on lccountryfest.com, including a link to their video.
Participants can submit videos every week if they choose, but it’s not a requirement to be eligible to compete for the grand prize.
The finalist videos will be posted on lccountryfest.com and at the Las Cruces Country Music Festival Facebook page, where the public can cast their votes for their favorite lip sync video. Voting opens April 17.
