Oh, man, Kelly’s. This has always been one of my favorite places to dine. So much so that I hardly get to go anymore because my boyfriend got sick of coming here so often! I remember my very first time coming to his magical place. My cousin and her husband had taken me out to a UNM basketball game (go Lobos!) and they decided to bring me here afterwards for some grub. I never looked back from that day forward. How could I, the biggest burger lover, have never eaten here before? My favorite, in case you’re wondering, is a burger with pepper jack and feta cheese, fries, and a side of ranch. Don’t miss out on their fish tacos or nachos, either! The portions are generous and you definitely won’t leave unsatisfied.
For those of you who have never been to Kelly’s, it’s a nice gem of a restaurant found on Central. It’s a sports bar, family eatery, and brewery all in one. With over 20 in-hose brews to choose from and 12 flat screen TV’s (with NFL Ticket, of course), it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the game with your friends. Not a sports fan? Not a problem. There is also an abundance of inside and outside seating. With such amazing New Mexico weather almost year-round, outdoor dining is hard to pass up– especially for those who want to bring their dogs. What’s better than kicking back in the shade and enjoying a brew with your furry friend? And, for all you serious beer lovers out there, you can even brew your very own batch of beer here. Spend a couple of hours with a few friends learning the craft and process of brewing beer, then come back in a few weeks to bottle it! Once you’re done there’s nothing left to do but take your freshly brewed beer home and try it out. Whether you have a knack for it or not, it’s an experience you won’t soon forget. Has anyone ever done it before? Comment and let us know how it was!
