ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Dion’s is introducing its first seasonal gourmet pizza this fall. La Luz will be available until January 1, 2017 and is made with red chile sauce and topped with mozzarella, provolone and cheddar cheeses, mushrooms, red onions, bell peppers and chicken. “We were searching for a flavor reminiscent of fall in New Mexico, and we found that in La Luz,” said Deena Crawley, Marketing Director at Dion’s. “Historically, red chile has been used in traditional New Mexican dishes and it warms up people nicely as the season grows colder. We wanted to bring the unique red chile flavor to pizza, and we are glad we did, as it has become an instant favorite among our employees and customers.” According to Crawley, the red chile sauce was made in partnership with Bueno Foods. She said Dion’s wanted to partner with a company that really understood the flavor of New Mexico and they experimented with several recipes before landing on the right one. La Luz is offered alongside Dion’s other gourmet pizzas: the Napoli, the Santorini, the Kansas City, the Duke City, and the Tuscany. In addition to pizzas, Dion’s also offers salads and subs. All menu items can be customized upon request, and the red chile sauce is available to be added to any pizza.
