Albuquerque, New Mexico – As usual, when you see a big story that makes it “Nationally”, about New Mexico, it’s usually wrong. Recently, there was an article published in People Magazine titled “Your Favorite Restaurants In Every State”.
They teamed up with Zagat (dining experts) to compile a list of 51 restaurants, showcasing what they consider to be the best in each state, using various ratings throughout the web.
For New Mexico, they chose Mary and Tito’s Cafe in Albuquerque. It’s not that Mary and Tito’s isn’t good. It’s delicious, but it certainly doesn’t scratch the surface when it comes to competing with some of the cuisines that you can find throughout the state. If you ask me, there are far too many to pinpoint a favorite. New Mexico has some of the finest and most-flavorful food in the country.
New Mexico is the 5th largest state, which means there’s a lot of ground to cover. Regionally, there are different variations of the same food. The people in the North live and make recipes a little different than they do in the southern portion of the state, as goes for the eastern and western parts of the state.
Basically, New Mexico is for most people, uncharted territory. It’s a place where many people live as they did a hundred years ago. A place where the culture and the bloodlines run deep into the history books.
Till next time!
Hopefully, more thought will go into the next publication.
