Free Filmmakers Showcase Open to all New Mexico Residents
Santa Fe, N.M. – Today the New Mexico Film Office announced a call for entries for the 2017 NM Filmmakers Showcase. The Showcase is an annual screening to expose and celebrate the work of New Mexico filmmakers and to have their project shown on the big screen.
There is no charge to submit an entry and the Showcase is free and open to the public to attend. The deadline for entries is Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 5:00 pm. You may submit your project and application to: https://filmfreeway.com/festival/2017NewMexicoFilmmakersShowcase.
“One of the great things about having a healthy and vibrant film industry is the opportunities it creates for New Mexico filmmakers to tell their own stories. The Showcase provides a forum for them to screen projects in a theatre setting for the most valuable of feedback: audience reaction,” said New Mexico Film Office Director Nick Maniatis.
Belle Allen, State Outreach Coordinator said, “There’s no rush like seeing your film on the big screen and it’s an honor to host this wonderful event where so much New Mexico talent comes together under one roof.”
A panel of local film professionals will judge the projects in various categories, and winning projects will travel around the state, coordinated by the New Mexico Film Office in collaboration with local theatres and local film festivals.
This year there are seven (7) categories for submission: drama, horror, sci-fi/fantasy, comedy, documentary, student, and music video. The maximum run time for entries is 120 minutes.
