(July 6, 2016)—Boy oh boy, do I enjoy an ice cold margarita on a hot New Mexico summer day. Of course, these days I’m drinking margaritas without alcohol, but you get the idea. And one of the best margaritas I’ve ever had in New Mexico can be found at Santa Fe’s own favorite local spot, The Shed. Located just east of the plaza on Palace Street, The Shed is the perfect location to meet up with friends and family, or enjoy a date night with that special someone in your life.
To say that The Shed is a Santa Fe institution is an understatement, as it has been a favorite amongst locals since its inception in 1953. With glorious menu items such as Gazpacho (a cold, seasonal treat), to blue corn enchiladas layered with cheese and The Shed’s own special recipe red chile, and the huevos rancheros served with farm fresh eggs, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Their secluded courtyard patio covered in foliage is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the ambiance after a long hard day of shopping along Santa Fe’s bustling plaza. The service is always impeccable, and their chips and salsa are always fresh, spicy and delicious.
I wonder if it would be a bad idea to cut out of work early and head up to our state’s capitol for some happy hour. Who’s with me? If you have yet to try The Shed, or if you’ve been many times and love it as much as I do, the next time you’re in Santa Fe be sure to stop in and enjoy all that this local favorite has to offer. I’ll see you there!
