(June 29, 2016)—Ahhhhhhhhhhh… This is basically the only thing that needs to be said about Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs, Resort and Spa. But I guess one word isn’t really giving a sufficient amount of information, so I will continue.
Ojo Caliente, located just one hours drive north of Santa Fe, NM, is a little slice of relaxation heaven. As soon as you walk in the front doors, you are met with tranquil music floating lazily through the air, and friendly staff members ready to answer all of your questions. Once you make your way outside to the pools, it is plain to see that the day will be spent doing nothing but basking in the relaxation that Ojo Caliente is offering you. From the rock walls of the Soda Spring, which is thought to reduce digestive problems, to the Arsenic Spring, which is said to help heal many skin ailments, there is a pool for everyone. After relaxing in their various pools, you can make your way to the Mud Pool. And yes folks, this is exactly what it sounds like. Red, earthy colors envelope you as you rub the natural clay mud from the top of your head to the tips of your toes, and lay quietly out in the sunlight as the mud works its magic. The natural clay works to release toxins from your body while you nap in the warm New Mexico sun.
If you’re craving even more tranquility, Ojo Caliente offers spa packages as well, which include massages, facials, skin therapy and hot oil hair therapy, just to name a few. And lucky for us, Ojo Caliente offers gift cards. What better way to show the loved ones in your life how much you care than to gift them with a day of pampering? Once you’ve had your fill of the mineral springs and the spa, head on over to Ojo Caliente’s own Artesian Restaurant and Wine Bar for some much needed sustenance.
Who doesn’t want a glass of red wine of local draft beer on tap after all of that pampering? Not to mention their incredible menu which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, from only the finest ingredients, some of which are grown right on Ojo Caliente’s property. So, if you have yet to treat yourself to a much deserved break from the usual hustle and bustle, make the short trip to Ojo Caliente. I know you will love it.
