Chile Verde con Carne Deshebrada Recipe—(October 20, 2016)—It’s no wonder that my personal slogan is “chile on everything!”. When in comes to green chile, that’s pretty much everyone’s expression. So, here’s one of those things that you can just about mix into or put on anything and it will be good. Roll it up in a tortilla, mix it with rice. Make a sloppy José. The options are endless.Enough with the babbling. Here is the recipe.

Chile Verde con Carne Deshebrada


  • 1 large roast (the bigger the better whatever is on sale)
  • 3 cups New Mexico Green Chile
  • 3 large tomatoes (diced)
  • Salt to taste
  • 5 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1 large onion (chopped)
  • 2 cups water


Place large roast in crock pot, then add onion, tomatoes, bouillon cubes, salt, and green chile. Stir well and set crock pot to high cook about 6 hours until all the flavors are cooked together and meat is falling apart.

Roll in homemade flour Tortillas and cheese. ENJOY!
