(October 8, 2015)—The Special Shapes Rodeo™ is one of the most unique and most anticipated events, not only for New Mexican’s but also for millions of people around the world. The Special Shapes Rodeo™ is a place for balloonists to showcase their colorful balloons and creative shapes, some created to look like your favorite animal, or cartoon.
For many New Mexican’s, The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is tradition. Most of us remember waking up as children and being taken down to the Balloon Fiesta park before the sun came up. However, I went several times and only remember being super-cold and only being able to see the backs of peoples legs, and occasionally a special shaped balloon or two.
As an adult I’ve become a lot more fond of the event, and being a professional photographer, well, the two go hand and hand. So, here are some of the shots that I took this morning, as well as probably the most triumphant time-lapse of the Special Shapes Rodeo this morning.
Enjoy!
